Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Our church is organizing a blessed pilgrimage to the ancient and spiritual Monastery of Saint Anthony the Great in the Eastern Desert from Friday, June 13th to Sunday, June 15th. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the monastic life, pray in the footsteps of the early desert fathers, and receive spiritual blessings.

The pilgrimage will include:

• Participating in the Divine Liturgy and prayers at the monastery.
• Visiting the cave of Saint Anthony.
• Learning about the rich history and traditions of the Coptic monasticism.
• Enjoying fellowship with fellow pilgrims.

Transportation and accommodation will be arranged. There is a registration fee of [Amount] per person to cover these costs. Holy Week Services:

• Palm Sunday (Sunday, April 13th):

• Great Lent: The period leading up to Holy Week is Great Lent, a time of fasting, prayer, and repentance that typically lasts for 55 days.
• Holy Week: This week is a profound journey through the final days of Jesus Christ’s life on earth, from His triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to His glorious Resurrection on Easter Sunday. Each day of Holy Week has specific services and themes that focus on the events leading to the Crucifixion and the anticipation of the Resurrection.
• Pascha: The celebration of the Resurrection is the central focus of the Christian faith. Coptic Orthodox Christians celebrate the triumph of Christ over death with special liturgies, joyful hymns, and the sharing of blessings. The Paschal greeting, “Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!” echoes throughout the services and among the faithful.
• Shameen Nessim: The Monday following Easter Sunday is a special feast day in the Coptic Church known as “Shameen Nessim” (meaning “the smelling of the breeze”). It is a day traditionally celebrated outdoors, often in gardens or by the Nile River in Egypt, symbolizing the renewal of life and the joy of the Resurrection. Families gather to enjoy food, fellowship, and the beauty of nature.
